Du Shitao (Cherry) has an over 13-year experience in the metals and minerals industry. Cherry started as a journalist in “Metal-Pages”. Later on, she joined Samsung Corporation (Beijing) as a trader to import minerals to China and studied Chinese coal resources and investment opportunities for foreign companies for nearly three years.
Cherry returned to Metal-Pages in 2008, where she covered business development and marketing in Asia, as well as partnership establishment, especially with key stakeholders including relevant governments, ministries, research institutions, industry associations, and leading enterprises. Before joining the GIZ, Cherry worked at Australian Embassy in the department of Industry, Innovation and Science.
Cherry studied Simultaneous Interpreting and Translation at the University of Bath (UK) with a Master degree and she has BA in International Trade (English) from Liaoning Normal University.
