Workshop: Sustainable Infrastructure in Africa – Peer-Learning and Business Development25.02.2019
Background and Objectives
Sustainable infrastructure development is recognized as a key driver to realizing both the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. To reap this development potential of sustainable infrastructure projects, global stakeholders from the private, financial and public sectors need to join forces – to plan, finance, build, and operate infrastructure that meets the social, environmental and financial bottom line.
There exists a vast potential for trilateral development cooperation between China and Germany in Africa. In addition there is potential for business cooperation between Chinese, German and African countries’ businesses and infrastructure players for sustainable, quality infrastructure.
This event provides an opportunity to build partnerships for the African sustainable infrastructure market. It brings together project developers, contractors, and financiers – accompanied by representatives from the public sector, think tanks, and civil society – to share lessons learned in developing sustainable, quality infrastructure and to forge new business partnerships.
The workshop will be organized in two parts. Please find a full agenda here (PDF).
